Full History Check

A full history check is the complete picture of a UK vehicle in a single report. RegRadar combines live DVLA and DVSA data with commercial finance, theft, insurance write-off and mileage registers — everything you need to verify a car before you part with money.

What's inside a full history check

The premium report covers outstanding finance markers (HP, PCP, lease, conditional sale, logbook loans), Police National Computer stolen markers, MIAFTR insurance write-off categories (S, N, C, D, A, B), mileage anomaly detection across MOT and dealer-network sources, plate and colour change history, scrapped and exported markers, manufacturer recall status, V5C issue history, and a 0–100 Vehicle Report Score summarising the whole file.

Free vs full check

Enter your registration above and we'll run the free DVLA and MOT lookup instantly — make, model, fuel, engine size, tax status, MOT status and the complete MOT testing history. If you decide the car is worth pursuing, you can upgrade to the full £9.99 history check on the next screen. No account required to read the free check; no subscription required to buy the full one.

Who needs a full history check

Anyone buying privately, anyone buying from a trader they don't know personally, anyone trading in a vehicle they want a defensible valuation for, and anyone whose insurance or finance application has been queried. A timestamped report dated to the day of purchase is your evidence of due diligence.

How the data is sourced

The free tier uses the official DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and the DVSA MOT History API. The premium tier additionally uses a regulated UK data partner that aggregates finance markers from over 40 lenders, MIAFTR write-off records, PNC stolen markers and dealer-network mileage records.

What the report cannot tell you

A history check is a data report, not a physical inspection. It cannot detect undeclared crash repair that wasn't claimed on insurance, cosmetic issues, mechanical wear, or service-history gaps where no MOT or franchised dealer touched the car. Use the full history check alongside a test drive and, on higher-value cars, an independent inspection.
