Data sources

Every section of a RegRadar report is attributed to its data provider, so you can see exactly where each fact comes from. Free checks use UK government APIs; premium reports add commercial data licensed through regulated partners.

Quick answer

RegRadar pulls vehicle identity, MOT and tax data directly from the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service and DVSA MOT history API. Premium finance, stolen, write-off, mileage-anomaly and previous-advert data is supplied by Experian and Cazana/Percayso through One Auto API.

DVLA — Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency

UK government source of vehicle registration and tax data. Powers identity and tax sections of the free check.

DVSA — Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency

UK government source for MOT test results, advisories and the official mileage record.

Experian (via One Auto API)

Industry-standard source for finance markers, stolen status, salvage and insurance write-off categories.

Cazana / Percayso (via One Auto API)

Aggregated UK advert history used to flag mileage anomalies and previous listings.

How fresh is the data?

Free DVLA and DVSA checks are live at the moment of the request — there is no overnight cache on the free tier. Premium data (finance, stolen, write-off, adverts) reflects the most recent feed from each partner, typically refreshed daily. Where a provider cannot return a value (for example, very new imports), the corresponding section is shown as "no data" rather than a guess.

Independence

RegRadar is an independent vehicle history check service. RegRadar is not affiliated with HPI, DVLA, DVSA, Experian, Cazana, Percayso or One Auto API unless explicitly stated.
